Pixie’s Candy Parlour is an old fashioned candy shop; take a step back in time and walk down memory lane! Pixie’s is a family-owned business offering sweets from every decade in a boutique style candy shop. Also featuring an authentic 1950’s soda fountain, with only a handful in operation in Canada!
Jackie (also known as “Pixie”) founded Pixie’s Candy Parlour in 2013 in a local farmers market; she had been searching for an old fashioned candy store in Calgary to quench her sweet tooth and felt it was something that was needed in her community. The store was a huge success and remained in the farmers market for 18 months. The market then abruptly closed a portion of their building leaving Pixie’s without a home.
In late 2015, Jackie found a new location in her community and her childhood dream was about to come to fruition! Jackie’s sister, Shannon, then joined the Pixie’s team as co-owner when the company was incorporated in 2016.
The two sisters then took possession of their own little space; it was an empty shell waiting for their ideas and dreams to take shape! With the expertise of their carpenter Father (and many sleepless nights!), the three of them built the store from the ground up. From building the walls, custom built-in cabinets, laying the flooring, and painting the walls… they did it all!
Pixie’s doors opened on June 24th, 2016 and the reception from the community has been wonderful. The walls are lined with nostalgic candy, modern favourites, imported chocolate and bulk candies, gummies, and salt water taffy. They handcraft old fashioned sodas, floats, ice cream sodas, along with a dairy-free sorbet option.
